Question:
1. How do you do a hard reset on a Palm Tungsten E?
INITIAL WARNING – PERFORMING A HARD RESET WILL ERASE ALL DATA FROM THE DEVICES INTERNAL MEMORY!
Answer:
1. Press and hold the power button on the top panel of the handheld.
2. While holding the power button, use the tip of an unfolded paper clip (or similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button.
3. Wait for the ‘Palm Powered’ logo to appear; then release the power button.
4. When a message appears on the handheld screen warning that you are about to erase all the data stored on your handheld, do one of the following:
a. Press Up on the navigator to complete the hard reset and display the Digitizer screen.
b. Press any other button to perform a soft reset.
NOTE: This procedure also works with other Palm models, I’ve tried it successfully with my Palm Zire.

PC Magazine report that Palm officially breaks up with Windows Mobile. Palm this week announced that it will drop Microsoft’s Windows Mobile in favour of it’s own WebOS platform. Jon Rubinstein, Palm CEO, made the switch official. See  http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2353007,00.asp

I don’t believe it’s possible to get Palm Desktop ‘HotSync’ to work on a PC running 64-Bit Windows Vista. But it would appear that for the Windows Vista Home version, you’re in luck, see http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/32859_en.html. As stated, the follow devices are supported: Palm Centro, Treo 755P, 700P, 680, 650, Palm TX, Z22, Tungsten E2. For a Bluetooth Sync solution, see http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/49229_en.html.
